Cadillac Shoppers Must Look At INFINITI Vehicles, To Compare
The Cadillac Motor Car Division (part of General Motors) has been synonymous with the manufacturing of excellent motor vehicles for over a century. It is perhaps every motorist’s dream to eventually own a Cadillac, and whenever you see a car drive pass carrying the Cadillac badge you know the owner of that car is someone who is very satisfied with their motor vehicle purchase.
If you are thinking of buying an El Paso Cadillac, have you thought that you may be paying a premium just for the ‘Cadillac’ name? There are similar vehicles out there that do not come with that premium, meaning that you are getting a much better car for exactly the same cost, if not less in some situations.
INFINITI is the luxury vehicle division of the hugely successful motor car company Nissan. In many ways the vehicles produced with the INFINITI label are superior to those produced by Cadillac El Paso. If you don’t believe us, we are going to persuade you by comparing two equivalent models, one produced by Cadillac and one produced by Nissan’s INFINITI. By the end of our comparison, we hope we will have convinced you that a Nissan INFINITI vehicle is the superior choice.
Let’s Compare an El Paso Cadillac With the Equivalent Nissan INFINTI Model
For our comparison, we have chosen the El Paso Cadillac XT5 and will be comparing it to the equivalent vehicle, the 2020 INFINITI QX60.
The Cadillac XT5 is a luxury compact crossover that was first manufactured in 2016 and by 2017 had become Cadillac’s best-selling model, globally. Available in a five-door SUV configuration, it is available in both FWD and AWD.
The QX60 was launched in 2012 as the Infiniti JX but was rebranded as the QX60 after only a year. This is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV that like the XT5 is available only with five doors, but with FWD and AWD both available.
The El Paso Cadillac XT5 and the INFINITI QX60 are equivalent in price. The QX60 immediately has the greater seating capacity though, at seven seats to the XT5’s five. It also has more room in the cabin, despite having space for two more passengers.
The XT5 also has a much lower torque engine, which means it does not do as good a job of transmitting engine power to the road as does the QX60. The XT5 also has a larger turning radius than the Infiniti model, which means it is harder to maneuver the XT5 around tight spots. The XT5 though is slimmer than the QX60, so guiding it into tight parking spots is easier.
In terms of raw strength and power, the QX60 is the much superior vehicle. The QX60 has a magnificent towing capacity of 5,000 lbs., which is no less than five times greater than the towing capacity of the XT5. The QX60 wins the battle of cargo space too – 76.2 cubic feet over the XT5’s 63 cubit feet. In terms of fuel consumption, the QX60 is the thirstier vehicle, but this difference is negligible and barely noticeable when driving in the city.
